DR JANE MONTGOMERY GRIFFITHS is Director of the Centre for Theatre and Performance at Monash University, and former Convenor of Monash's Classical Studies Program. She combines academic research and teaching with professional practice as a theatre maker. She has had an extensive career as an actor both in Australia and the UK, performing with theatres including the RSC, Cambridge Theatre Company, Bell Shakespeare Company and Belvoir.
